Many companies have acquired PLM systems in recent years. A PLM often means more work for designers, buyers etc., because documents, designs, BOMs etc. have to be checked in and out of the PLM systems. This work can be greatly minimized by making integration between CAD and PLM systems.
Information to and from ERP system
All companies have an ERP (economics) system (SAP, Navision, C5, AX, E-conomic and many more). These systems are the master for your company's financial data, and are also most often the company's purchasing system. ERP systems are good for these functions, but often do not function as a database for e.g. CAD components.
As a designer, you need other types of information than e.g. the purchaser has. Therefore, we have built a large number of integrations with our CIP database as a focal point. This means that the data found in the electronics developer's database is precisely the data that must be used in the design phase, and at the same time the buyer has the data that must be used in the ERP system.
