In the maritime industry, mastering propulsion systems is key to improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions, and enhancing vessel performance and behaviour. In this session, the RISE and Cadence teams will explore how to use Fine Marine CFD to enable detailed modelling of marine propellers in self-propulsion configurations, using both an actuator disk and real propeller geometry.

About RISE
Rise, or the Research Institutes of Sweden, is Sweden’s national research institute and innovation partner. They collaborate closely with industry, academia, and society to develop long-term, sustainable solutions for the economy and the environment, including within Maritime solutions and fossil-free shipping.
Former SSPA is now part of RISE with the test beds SSPA Maritime Center.
About Fine Marine
Fine Marine is Cadence’s advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tool specifically tailored for the maritime sector—steeped in naval architecture and ship hydrodynamics. It enables high-fidelity simulation of fluid flows around ship hulls, propellers, and appendages under realistic ocean conditions. A numerical towing tank at your fingertips!
