PSpice enables you to create virtual prototypes of your electronic design

PSpice is a virtual SPICE simulation environment within OrCAD X, featuring an extensive model library that allows you to create virtual prototypes of your designs. It leverages industry-leading, integrated analog, mixed-signal, and advanced analysis tools to deliver a comprehensive circuit simulation and verification solution.

  • Access to PSpice is included in the free OrCAD X trial.

* Student licenses are free for all active students. Sign up using your student email and begin using OrCAD X and PSpice.

4 Reasons to choose PSpice

Here's how PSpice stands out from competing solutions.

Circuit Analysis and Optimization

Gain insights into your circuit's behavior by running multiple analyses, from bias point to electrical overstress. Fine-tune design parameters to maximize performance, yield, cost, and reliability.

Cross-Industry Compliant Certified

ISO 26262-certified, PSpice is ideal for precision electronics, consumer products, and high-power industrial equipment.

Extensive Component Library

Pre-configured with over 35,000 parameterized models ranging from discrete components to PWM controllers and MOSFETs, streamlining your simulation process.

Electro-Mechanical Simulation

Enables system-level simulations supported by MathWorks Simulink. The Cadence PSpice MATLAB Simulink interface combines two industry-leading tools into a robust solution for electronics engineers.

Product features

Transient analysis

Evaluate circuit responses during state changes over specific time intervals, with detailed voltage or current graphs.

Smoke analysis

Ensure all circuit components operate within safe limits and analyze responses to temperature, voltage, and current changes.

Sensitivity analysis

Identify component parameters with the most significant impact on performance and evaluate potential trade-offs between yield and cost.

Monte Carlo analysis

Predict circuit behavior under varying conditions, balancing yield and cost while assessing the effect of tighter component tolerances on performance.

Optimizer

Adjust circuit components and system values to meet performance targets and design requirements.

MATLAB-integration

Two-way communication between MathWorks MATLAB/Simulink and PSpice enables simulation of electrical circuits alongside mechanical, hydraulic, and thermal blocks in a unified environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you can't find your answers here, don't hesitate to contact us.

How long does the setup and onboarding take?

You can easily get started on your own and if you need help, we recommend using our installation guides to solve the problem. You can gain access to these if you have a valid license. Please remember, that if you need additional assistance, our premium support team is always available.

Do I need technical knowledge to implement OrCAD X?

As with all professional tools, there is a need for setup, this can be done with the help of our installation guides or you can book one of Norcad's product specialists to fix it for you.

How is the compatibility in OrCAD X (with integrations and other CAD tools)?

There are built-in translators to convert your existing design to OrCAD X. In addition, it is also integrated into Solidworks, using the new and free MCADX software, making it easier for ECAD and MCAD teams to co-design products. Lastly, we want to highlight the integration with several part providers such as Ultralibrarian, Samacsys, and SnapMagic

What makes OrCAD X different?

OrCAD X has the newest features with cloud capabilities such as a part database with parametric data, library management, design data management, revision history, integration with part providers, Live BOM, controlled collaboration both internally and externally, and the new PCB editor OrCAD X Presto.

How scalable is OrCAD X for growing businesses?

Whether you're a small or a large enterprise, you can always scale your license to fit your growing company's needs.

Can I import/export data from OrCAD X to other systems?

Yes, you have a variety of options for exporting into other systems. MCADX integration with Solidworks is an example. In addition, you can export DXF, IDF, IDX, etc.

At Nordcad you're in great company!

Here's what our customers say about us.
Experiencing a large growth, we were more and more exposed to the risk of mixing up BOM’s for all our parts and variants. We realised that Excel could no longer give us the level of confidence that we needed, and searched the market for a solution. Highstage has proven great in getting a strong grip on our BOM’s and revision control.
Joakim Jørgensen
Hardware Developer at Develco
Uneeg uses Highstage across their development projects. Documents are electronically signed by reviewers and approvers, according to FDA CFR Part 11 requirements. Nita Volder Hansen – Process Engineer at Uneeg – is a big fan of references, and for a good reason – references in Highstage are used to manage which revision is correct and valid. Using the Reference Lock functionality, a revision can be locked to the DHF even if newer versions exist.
Nita Volder Hansen
Process Engineer at Uneeg
Highstage has significantly enhanced production efficiency while minimising errors. Thanks to the persistent links that consistently display up-to-date revisions of drawings and production documents, Highstage has brought about a singular, reliable source of truth.
